La prima mostra delle orchidee ad Asolo ha avuto luogo nel 2016 e da allora viene riproposta ogni anno e ogni anno ha sempre maggiore successo e affluenza di pubblico.
Il periodo in cui viene effettuata è solitamente nella prima metà del mese di febbraio.
La sua sede è in Villa Razzolini Loredan.
Questa si trova a Casella d’ Asolo lungo la statale marosticana.
Apparteneva alla famiglia Razzolini che la edificarono verso il 1600. Nonostante abbia avuto più proprietari, la villa nel corso dei secoli ha sempre continuato ad essere abbellita e ampliata. Ora è di proprietà della famiglia Dussin.
La villa è sede di un ristorante. Nelle sue sale si respira la raffinatezza data sia dall’arredamento, dagli affreschi, dalla familiarità e dai raffinati menù.
Un bellissimo parco monumentale con piante autoctone, aperto al pubblico, la attornia.
La mostra delle orchidee si svolge in una barchessa attigua.
Viene organizzata dall’Associazione in collaborazione con il comune di Asolo.
Sono esposte varietà autoctone italiane ed anche europee.
Le orchidee sono piante epifite, cioè si sviluppano vicino ad altre piante ma non traggono da queste i nutrienti. Con le loro radici aeree si auto-nutrono.
I loro fiori sono molto ornamentali come i loro colori la cui gamma va dal bianco al fucsia.
I fiori hanno molteplici misure e forme. Possono essere molto piccoli oppure ad arrivare a 15-20 centimetri di diametro.
Un altro fattore che caratterizza l’orchidea è il suo profumo. Questo richiama l’insetto impollinatore.
E’ logico pensare che l’orchidea profuma ma le orchidee che abbiamo in casa normalmente non profumano.
Ho scritto “normalmente” di proposito in quanto l’orchidea profuma quanto avverte nelle vicinanze il suo insetto impollinatore.
La sua origine è dei tropici e solo una piccola percentuale cresce spontaneamente nelle zone fredde.
Sembra strano, ma esse sono presenti anche nei monti veneti nel periodo estivo, logicamente sono un po' diverse da quelle che si comperano nelle serre perché vivono allo stato selvatico.
Le orchidee che si coltivano in Veneto sono: la cymbidium, la phalaenopsis, la oncidium. Vengono coltivate per i loro colori e per la loro forma maestosa.
Alla mostra ne sono presenti di tantissime varietà, è uno spettacolo che cattura la vista per la bellezza che offre. Guardandole rimanga incantata dal fatto che Madre Natura abbia programmato così tanta bellezza e proporzionalità in un piccolo fiore che diventa un gioiello per la sua armonia e la sua dolcezza estetica.
Durante la mostra ci sono, in orari prestabiliti dei corsi informativi sulla coltivazione e trattamento di questi fiori dove parlano esperti del settore.
Alla mostra le orchidee si possono anche acquistare per cui me ne compero una e precisamente l’orchidea Phalaenopsis pulchra.
"The Orchid Exhibition in Asolo"
The first orchid exhibition in Asolo took place in 2016, and since then, it has been organized every year, gaining increasing success and attendance. The event usually occurs in the first half of February and is hosted at Villa Razzolini Loredan, located in Casella d’Asolo along the Marostica highway. It is currently owned by the Dussin family and operates as a restaurant. The villa exudes sophistication through its furnishings, frescoes, warm ambiance, and refined menus. A beautiful monumental park, featuring native plants, surrounds the villa and is open to the public.
The orchid exhibition takes place in an adjacent barn and is organized by the Association in collaboration with the municipality of Asolo. The exhibition showcases both Italian and European native orchid species. Orchids are epiphytic plants, meaning they grow near other plants but do not derive nutrients from them. They self-nourish through their aerial roots. Orchid flowers are highly ornamental, displaying a wide range of colors from white to fuchsia. The flowers come in various sizes and shapes, ranging from small to 15-20 centimeters in diameter. Orchids are also characterized by their fragrance, which attracts pollinating insects.
Interestingly, while orchids are known for their fragrance, orchids commonly kept indoors do not usually emit a scent. This is because orchids release their fragrance when their pollinator is nearby. Orchids originate from the tropics, and only a small percentage grows naturally in colder regions. Surprisingly, they are also found in the Venetian mountains during the summer, albeit slightly different from those cultivated in greenhouses, as they grow in the wild.
In the Veneto region, popularly cultivated orchid species include cymbidium, phalaenopsis, and oncidium, valued for their vibrant colors and majestic forms. The exhibition features a wide variety of orchids, captivating visitors with their beauty. Observing them, one cannot help but be enchanted by the intricate designs and proportions in these small flowers, transforming them into natural gems exuding harmony and aesthetic sweetness.
During the exhibition, scheduled informative sessions about the cultivation and care of these flowers are conducted by industry experts. Visitors have the opportunity to purchase orchids during the exhibition, and I personally bought a Phalaenopsis pulchra orchid.
